Beverly Hills: 90210 is one of the most iconic shows of the 1990s. The perfect teenage show launched the careers of many stars, including Luke Perry, Tori Spelling, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, and more. Focusing on a group of young adults attending high school and then college, the show reached unbelievable ratings. What happened to the cast of 90210?

The name is a reference to the elite zip code of 90210 located in Beverly Hills, California. And kids all around the world wanted to experience that lifestyle firsthand. For many fans, relating to the lives of the show characters proved easy. We watched them experience every dramatic moment, including teen pregnancy, drug addiction, cancer, mental illnesses, broken hearts, and much more.

Jennie Garth



Jennie played the troubled Kelly Taylor, the most beautiful girl in the show by many. The perfect blonde, as you can say. She did a lot of work following the end of the show.

For example, she starred in the sitcom What I Like About You. And then she reprised her role in a serious and responsible Kelly in the CW sequel of 90210 from 2008 to 2013.

Many fans loved her serious roles. For example, she played an HIV-positive teacher in the TV teen drama movie Girl, Positive in 2007.

In 2007, she appeared on Dancing with the Stars, season five. Garth reached the semi-finals.

In May 2017 she launched her website It is an online subscription box of products that inspire and pamper moms. A portion of the purchase goes to charities. In 2018, she launched the Traveling Heart Collection in a collaboration with Dune Jewelry.

Tori Spelling


Tori got the role of Donna Martin at the age of 17. Some might say family ties played a role. Her father’s company, Spelling Television, co-produced the show. But Tori proved a great actress. She portrayed Dona for the entire run of the show and earned two nominations by Young Artist Awards.

During her time on 90210 she got roles in made-for-television movies like A Friend to Die For, Mother, May I Sleep with Danger, Co-ed Call Girl, and more.

In 2006, she portrayed herself in the VH1 sitcom So Notorious. The sitcom parodied her public image.

In the later years, she started writing. Spelling released her first book, an autobiography in March 2008. And then the next year, she released her second book, Mommywood.

Tori reprised her role in the 90210 spinoffs and appeared as a special guest star in Episode 19 and Episode 20.

Shannen Doherty

Shannen had her first major motion picture role in Heathers, a dark comedy in 1998. But then she got international attention and fame thanks to her portrayal of Brenda Walsh. In 1991 and 1992, she earned a Young Actress Nomination by Young Artist Awards. Doherty left the show following the fourth season.

Many fans remember Doherty for nude photos in Playboy. She appeared for the first time in 1993, and then she had a spread in March 1994. Shannen returned to posing for the magazine in December 2003 with a 10-page pictorial.

Following her departure from 90210, Doherty starred in made-for-TV movies. In November 2016, she joined the cast of Heathers television series. She played a different role than the one she had in the movie back in the 1990ss. She reprised her role as Brenda Walsh in the six-episode sequel BH90210.

After a few years’ hiatus, he returned to series television in 2007. He got a lead males role in Side Order of Life. The next years he returned to directing. He directed Luke Perry’s Hallmark Channel movie, Goodnight for Justice.

Fun fact: Jason made an appearance in the music video for Boys by Britney Spears. In August 2016, Priestley got inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame.

Race-car driving serves as his main hobby. He even purchased a stake in some race car clubs. In August 2002, he got a serious injury during a practice run at the Kentucky Speedway. His car crashed into a wall at nearly 180mph.

Brian Austin Green

Somehow, Brian managed to have the best career out of the cast of 90210. You can still see him on the screen. His most recent project includes Anger Management.

Famous for his portrayal of David Silver in 90210, Green appeared in several series following the end of the show.

He served as a series regular on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Wedding Band, and Freddie. Green also appeared briefly in the award-winning drama series Resurrection Blvd. In 2009, he joined the cast of Smallville and appeared in three episodes during the ninth season.

In 2012, he joined the cast of Anger Management for a couple of appearances in the first season. He got promoted to series regular for the second season.

Ian Ziering

Ian is one of only four series regulars that appeared in all ten seasons until 2000. During his tenure on the show, he also got some other roles. For example, in 1998, he voiced Dr. Niko Tatopoulos in Godzilla: The Series.

In 2006, he starred, directed, and produced the short movie Man vs. Monday. The movie won the Audience Choice Award at the 2006 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. The same year he won the Best Actor Award at the Monaco Film Festival for his role in Stripped Down.

Other television series appearances include JAG, The Doctors, Guiding Light, and What I Like About You. In 2007, he auditioned for the opportunity to succeed Bob Barker as host of The Price is Right. But he didn’t get the role.

In 2019, he got the role of Blue Devil in the show Swamp Thing. The show ran for one season on the DC Universe streaming service.

Luke Perry

Perry is one of the actors that left the show early on. He left the show in 1995 in an attempt to find more mature roles. The same year he got a part in the Italian movie Vacanze di Natale ’95. Yet, he returned to the show in 1998.

During his hiatus from 90210 he played in Normal Life, Invasion, Riot, and The Fifth Element.

Following the end of the show in 2000, he joined the HBO prison drama Oz. and from 2002 to 2004 he starred in the television series Jeremiah.

He appeared in many animated series, doing voice-over work. In most cases, he played himself. For example, he played himself as Krusty the Clown’s half-brother in The Simpsons. Perry also appeared in Johnny Bravo, Family Guy, The Incredible Hulk, Biker Mice from Mars, The Night of the Headless Horseman, and more. Luke guest-starred as a gay character in Spin City and Will & Grace.

He suffered a mass ischemic stroke at his home in February 2019. After a second stroke, his family decided to remove him from life support. He passed away at the age of 52 on March 4, 2019.
